Alzheimerova bolest (AB) je najčešći oblik demencije starije životne dobi. Starenjem populacije to postaje sve veći javnozdravstveni problem. U oboljelih od Alzheimerove bolesti česti su i vidni poremećaji. Nedavna istraživanja utvrdila su povezanost AB-a i gubitka aksona mrežnice, izmjerenog optičkom koherentnom tomografijom (OCT). To otvara mogućnost potvrđivanja dijagnoze AB pomoću OCT-a mrežnice, a možda i ranijeg otkrivanja AB-a.
Ključne riječi:
Alzheimerova bolest (AB); optička koherentna tomografija (OCT)
Alzheimer‘s Disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia in elderly. Along with the aging of the population, it is becoming an increasing public health problem. Visual disorders in AD patients are common. Measured by optical coherent tomography (OCT), recent studies have found the association of AD and retinal neuronal loss. It opens the possibility of confirming AD diagnosis with retinal OCT, as well as earlier detection of AD.
Key words:
Alzheimer‘s disease (AD); optical coherent tomography (OCT)
