Laserska refrakcijska kirurgija – LASIKLASIK eye surgery

Keratorefrakcijskom kirurgijom mijenjaju se oblik rožnice i refrakcijski status oka. LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) zbog široke je dostupnosti, pozitivnih rezultata i brzog oporavka najčešća metoda izbora u korekciji refrakcijskih anomalija. Pravilan odabir kandidata ključan je za optimalan uspjeh i minimaliziranje postoperativnih komplikacija. Usavršavanje excimer lasera, te primjena femtosecond lasera umjesto mehaničkih keratoma omogućuje širu primjenu LASIK-a i uspješniju prevenciju komplikacija.

Keratorefractive surgery changes the shape of cornea and refractive state of the eye. Because of its great accessibility, positive results and fast recovery of the patients, LASIK is the most common choice in correction of refractive errors. The right candidate selection is essential for the optimal treatment success and minimisation of postoperative complications. Improvement of the excimer laser and use of femtosecond laser instead of mechanical microkeratome have led to a broader application of LASIK and more efficient prevention of complications.
