Estetika potpune protezeAesthetics of removable complete dentures

Definirati pojam estetike potpune proteze nije jednostavan zadatak. Estetika nema precizne definicije niti granica kojima bi se nešto smatralo estetskim, odnosno neestetskim. To je osjećaj promatrača koji ovisi o samome čovjeku, njegovoj subjektivnosti. Estetika zubi ponajprije ovisi o prednjim zubima, kao dijelu vidljivog segmenta. Stoga doktor dentalne medicine izborom i postavom prednjih, umjetnih zuba nastoji imitirati prirodnost zubnoga luka. On usklađuje oblik, boju, veličinu i položaj zuba, s oblikom i veličinom lica, glave i tijela, te spolom i dobi pacijenta.

It is not easy to define aesthetics of complete dentures, since aesthetics has no precise definition or clear-cut boundaries. Aesthetics relies on a feeling of the observer and depends on personal preferences and subjectivity, allowing the person to participate in the idea of what is beautiful. Teeth aesthetics depends primarily on the front teeth, which are part of the visible segment. Therefore, a doctor of dental medicine will try to create an imitation of natural dental arch by selecting and arranging front artificial teeth. The dentist needs to adjust the shape, colour, size and position of teeth not only to the shape and size of the face, head and body, but also to patient’s age and gender.
